history, they're making history. Our Aeronautics Systems sector is
currently seeking a Composite Bonder level 1 to join our operations
team, located in Clearfield, UT, working on a variety of bonds of
dissimilar materials (composite, metal, or laminate) assemblies,
parts, skins, components, equipment or structures into
semi-finished or finished products. Position Requirements: This
position requires no previous knowledge or work history working on
aircrafts. The candidate chosen will go through up to 6 weeks of
training before hitting the shop floor. From there they will
receive close supervision involving detailed and written
instructions with checks on work performance. What you’ll get to
do: Read and interpret blueprints. Lay out articles, cuts parts or
materials to size and apply liquid or solid bonding agents.
Understanding of ply orientations and vacuum bagging processes
Operates autoclave, hydraulic presses and ovens to complete bonding
cycle. Control conditions of heat, pressure, and timing by setting
and operating various controls according to the specifications for
the materials and the bonding agent being used. Sand, burs and
smooth over areas, apply sealing resins to cut or exposed edges.
Monitor and verify quality of finished product. Complete repairs on
composite, metal or laminate bonded products using inspection and
rework instructions. Verifies quality of finished product. Basic
Qualifications: High School diploma or GED DoD Secret Security
Clearance and special program access required to start, but not
required to apply Must be able to perform moderate strenuous
physical and repetitious work to include: lifting over 25 pounds,
working with chemicals, prolonged overhead work, climbing up and
down ladders, prolonged kneeling, bending, or stooping, and
carrying tools. Must be able to access small, confined spaces and
work in an enclosed environment. Ability to work flexible, changing
shifts, including weekends Must successfully complete and pass the
“ASTAR New Hire Training / Compliance” within a reasonable time
period, as defined by the company to meet its business need.
Preferred Qualifications: Completion of AFAB Certification (115-
Structures, 120- Composites, 110- Blueprints, 130- Ethics)
Experience with hydraulic parts, aircraft fabrication, assemblies,
components, and systems in an aerospace, automotive, military,
manufacturing and/or maintenance environment Active DoD Secret
Clearance with a background investigation completed within the last
six years with the ability to obtain program access. Experience
with structural subassemblies such as rudders, flaps and
stabilizers. Primary Level Salary Range: $17.45 - $29.09 The above
salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop
Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary
offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and
the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market
conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible
for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in
addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward
individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in
company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions
may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop
