Castleview HospitalPerforms common testing procedures and reports test results.Performs instrument maintenance and troubleshooting..Performs quality control testing.Draws blood from patients of all age groups.Conducts chemical analyses of body fluids such as blood, urine, and spinal fluid, to determine presence of normal and abnormal components.Studies blood cells, their numbers, and morphology.Studies blood cells, their numbers, and morphology. Studies blood cells, their numbers, and morphology.Performs blood group, type, screens for unexpected antibodies and compatibility tests for transfusion purposes.Analyzes test results and enters findings in computer.Performs quality control studies to ensure accuracy of clinical data.Engages in medical research under direction of Chief Medical Technologist.Performs routine preventative maintenance on assigned instruments and equipment according to established schedule and procedure.Verifies instrument functioning by checking and calibrating specific lab instruments and documents data.Records on instrument logs any repairs, replacement, and maintenance needed of equipment.Trains and supervises students.Maintains all instrumentation and quality control of that instrumentation in assigned area(s) of responsibility.Keeps supplies inventory for assigned laboratory section(s) at appropriate levels.Trains technologists working in area(s) of responsibility.
