Pay Information $2,542 per week About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: One year experience preferred License: State RN license or RN license from a participating state in the NLC required Certifications: - American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required - Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification required - Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM) Certification or Association of Women's Health, Obstetrics, and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) Certification required Must-Have: - Nursing skills and knowledge base specific to specialty Description: Assess patients' physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs through observation and interviews. Review medical records and clinical data to evaluate patients' responses and intervene to ensure optimal outcomes. Develop and implement patient plans of care and observe outcomes in accordance with nursing standards. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care. Demonstrate competency in a variety of therapeutic and diagnostic interventions. These interventions include IVs, incision and wound care, medication administration, catheterization, and specimen collections. Promote and advocate for patients’ health, safety, and rights. Provide patient and family education by assessing learning readiness and needs. Evaluate the effectiveness of teaching provided. Recognize patients or designees as full partners in compassionate and coordinated care. Deliver care respectfully, taking into account cultural differences and diversity. Delegate tasks to non-RN personnel in accordance with regulations and policies. Utilize time, personnel, equipment, and supplies effectively to deliver high-quality patient care. Serve as a professional role model for staff, demonstrating ethical, legal, and professional nursing processes. Manage resources and patient flow, matching competencies with individual and unit needs. Follow standards of care, hospital policies, and regulatory guidelines to guide practice. Function effectively within nursing and interdisciplinary teams; foster open communication and mutual respect. Precept and mentor new staff or students as needed. Seek out learning opportunities and continuing education to maintain clinical competence. Evaluate personal integrity and nursing practice against professional standards and guidelines. Take action to achieve goals identified in evaluation processes. Demonstrate commitment to the organization through participation in meetings. Understand the importance of quality measurement and continuous quality improvement. Use quality measures to improve performance and accountability for patient outcomes and experiences.
