Job DescriptionJob Title: RESTAURANT RESERVATIONISTDepartment: Food & BeverageReports To: Restaurant ManagerRate of Pay: $15.00hrShift: Monday through Sunday, 11 am - 7 pmPart-Time, Year-Round positionWeekends, holidays, and special events are required based on business needs.SUMMARYGreet guests over the phone using Forbes etiquette, and assist in making & modifying reservations, taking guest notes and inputting into reservation system, taking large party inquires, and answering guests' questions about restaurants and dining. Relaying any vital information to Restaurant Managers to help with the guest experience. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Display exceptional understanding of dining service standards.Actively engages guests phone calls with good communication skills and meeting Forbes standards.Oversee and assist in the set-up, confirmation, and organization of restaurant reservations.Creates a positive experience for each guest through exceptional guest service skills.Sets-up, confirms and organizes restaurant reservations. Informs service team of special requests for reservations by putting notes into reservation system. Exhibits proper phone etiquette.Exhibits job and product knowledge sufficient to provide guests with accurate information in all aspects of food, wine, service, and resort information. Knowledgeable and compliant of Utah liquor laws.Support recycling program.Exhibits self-confidence to the degree necessary to handle a variety of situations in a positive and professional manner. Exhibits a positive attitude when speaking about guests and fellow employees.Demonstrates good organizational skills.Report guest feedback to Chefs and Restaurant Managers.Self-motivated, yet takes direction and change well.Share's Sundance's story of land preservation and environmental commitment when the opportunity arises.ALL SUNDANCE REPRESENTATIVES ARE EXPECTED TO:Embrace and promote all facets of the Sundance Guiding Principles: vision, mission, service standards, and values.Exhibit job and product knowledge to accurately support and promote all Sundance departments, amenities, and programming ventures.Be flexible to meet business demands, work well under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage time appropriately.Work with a broad-based constituency and provide excellent service to all internal and external guests.Demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors.Keep information confidential as directed in the confidentiality agreement.Support and comply with all Sundance policies, procedures, and standards.Protect Sundance assets.Be a positive ambassador of Sundance inside and outside of work.ENVIRONMENTAL COMMITMENT Support and participate in environmental programs associated with position, for example: minimize waste, recycle, conserve energy, purchase and use sustainable products, educate co-workers/guests on environmental ethic, support vendors with similar environmental ethic, decrease pollution levels, minimize the use of toxic chemicals, restore wildlife habitats, and carpool with co-workers to minimize carbon emissions. Please use the following as a minimum standard: All aspects of the Personal Appearance policy (SPL#50) must be in compliance.Employees are required to wear nametags at all times while on duty.Clothing must be unwrinkled, clean, and in good condition (no rips, tears, or frays regardless of whether accidental or fashionably placed).Blue jeans are permitted.Men's shirts must be tucked in.Appropriate skirt length is from the knee to the ankle.A tailored fit is required of all clothing.Tank tops, halter tops tube tops, and spaghetti straps are prohibited. Sleeveless shirts are permitted for females.Bare midriffs are prohibited.Proper footwear for your department is required.Dress sandals are permitted for females.Flip flops are prohibited in all areas.Tennis shoes are prohibited unless there is a business need (ie: Mtn. Ops.)Fashion sneakers are allowed within department approved parameters.No large jewelry.Hair must be clean and combed. Long hair must be worn off the face.Clean shaven or trimmed beard for men, no stubble.Pants/shirts must be free of stains, frays or holes.Pants/shirts must be clean and pressed.Employees must be showered with clean teeth, fresh breath, clean hands, and nails.AccommodationsSundance will reasonably accommodate employees with religious beliefs or a disability that may make it difficult for that employee to comply fully with the Personal Appearance Policy. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEHigh school diploma or GED. Two years related restaurant experience and/or training.Possesses professional demeanor and exceptional communication skills.1-2 years food service experience in a full-service restaurant preferred.Prior guest relations experience preferred.Knowledge and experience in wine, liquors and beer preferred.TECHNICAL/COMPUTER SKILLSComputer efficiency in Windows, Word, Word Perfect, Excel and other related programs.
