Paralegal - Legal Regulatory Affairs

We are recruiting for an exciting position with growth opportunity supporting its legal and regulatory functions. We are looking for a dynamic individual to join our team that can straddle responsibilities across functions and be nimble on needs of our

growing company including support of the promotional and regulatory review team, international expansion, documentation organization and review and other key areas that arise in the development and commercialization of nutritional products.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

The paralegal position will provide comprehensive support to the Legal Regulatory Affairs team. It will support the SVP of Legal Regulatory Affairs in managing Beachbody's international expansion, review and organization of product and ingredient documentation, review of promotional materials and support a wide variety of needs of the company. This position requires an individual with strong organizational and communication skills and someone with a solutions-oriented approach to issues. The position scope is expected to evolve over time to provide timely and nimble support to the company's evolving needs including operational excellence consistent with Beachbody's mission and business objectives in helping people live healthier, more fulfilling lives.

  • Supports and serves as coordinator of the Promotional Review Committee (PRC) and Medical Review Committee (MRC), including efficient operations and quality control of these important processes.

  • Supports VP of law on contracting efforts, including contract management processes, review and negotiation of legal agreements related to commercial contracts, vendor service agreements, clinical trial agreements, consulting agreements, and other ad hoc contracting needs.

  • Supports legal and regulatory functions on training needs related to FDA promotional regulation and guidance, anti-kickback laws, competition laws, industry settlements and risk areas, and other related areas impacting commercialization of prescription drug products and interactions with healthcare professionals.

  • Partners with Compliance function on development and implementation of effective compliance policies, standards, procedures, and training as needed.

  • Fosters a culture of ethics and transparency and collaborates with all departments to support culture of compliance.

  • Maintains current knowledge of laws and regulations related to pharmaceutical research, development, and commercialization.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 5+ years of experience in the natural health products industry (in-house preferred but other legal experience will be considered).

  • Experience in managing product documentation, international product registration submissions, project management or related experience preferred.

  • Experience with regulations and laws impacting the dietary supplement and natural health products industry, including but not limited to FDA regulations and guidance, FTC and product advertising laws, preferred.

  • Experience with federal and international regulations and laws related to sales, marketing, and promotion of foods and dietary supplements.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Strong organizational skills, including distilling large amounts of information into succinct summaries, organize documents and information in a way that is easy to access and communicated.

  • Strong communication skills, including sharing complex information in a clear and concise way with other stake holders.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and proficiency with technology applications such as Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, Excel, PowerPoint, and other contract management systems.

  • Ability to make decisions under pressure and provide practical advice and guidance on business matters in a fast-paced environment.

  • Good judgment and ability to maintain an objective perspective, particularly when navigating situations that can become complex.

  • Ability to work well independently on a team and can prioritize multiple matters.

  • Ability to build and maintain trusting relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Education required/preferred: Bachelor's Degree or Associates degree plus 4 years required legal experience.
