The Role: The Payroll Business Analyst will be responsible for working with Finance and HR leadership to configure and maintain Workday Payroll to support the various operational initiatives and departmental needs. In this role, the Payroll Business Analyst will be charged with being an integral part and/or leading the testing for system enhancements, updates and upgrades while ensuring that the system is functioning per the specifications and users' need. The Payroll Business Analyst will be responsible for creating and maintaining all payroll and time tracking configurations (i.e. earning codes, deduction codes, pay groups, time entry templates, etc.), and developing reports for all payroll related information. This role will require a high capacity for learning how to perform new tasks and assignments; work closely with the business to define their reporting needs and create, maintain and support these reporting needs. The individual in this role must be able to engage in professional and productive collaborative dialogue with a view to ensuring the integrity of the data contained within and subsequently the data communicated from Workday Payroll. What you will be working on: Configure Workday Payroll and Time Tracking to meet the functional payroll needs of this ever-changing fast-growing company. Serve as a second tier point of escalation regarding system functionality for the tier one (1) processing and support team. Be able to apply functional knowledge and expertise to provide additional data maintenance and/or payroll-processing support as needed (i.e. during times of high volume). Work closely with HRIS team to coordinate efforts around benefits, compensation, absence, and system updates. Coordinate with Accounting and FP&A to ensure accurate account and cost center posting rules. Work with Commissions to determine the correct coding of various compensation plans (e.g. pay component and worktag). Troubleshoot payroll related Workday integrations. Coordinate with IT as needed. Payroll reporting in order to help our internal customers operate as efficiently as possible. Continuously look for, and implement, process improvement opportunities. The Payroll Business Analyst must also be able to work with employees at all levels within the organization as a member of the team in order to satisfy reporting and system needs. Also perform other duties and special projects as assigned. Who you will work with: You will work closely with the payroll, commissions, HRIS, accounting, and FP&A departments. You will also interface with groups around the company to support them as needed . What we're looking for: Minimum two (2) years' experience working within payroll. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel; Strong communication (written and verbal), organizational and interpersonal skills. Ability to interface with individuals at all levels of the organization to understand requestor's needs and to take raw information to develop reports and presentations. Must be able to prioritize, problem solve, take initiative, maintain confidentiality of sensitive personnel information. Proven ability to remain flexible in the face of change and changing priorities. Excellent analytical and independent thinking skills. Ability to review and understand statistical data retrieved from Workday Payroll. Functional knowledge of using WORKDAY preferred. Functional experience with an ERP system preferred. Bachelor's degree required; preferably in Accounting, Finance or Information Systems.
