Job Description:

Position Summary: The Process Engineer has the responsibility to analyze manufacturing data and direct manufacturing data recording processes. The Process Engineer is responsible for applying Lean/Six Sigma and 5S principles to manufacturing processes. This position will assist in the development of manufacturing processes to streamline production and ensure product quality standards are met. This position will be required to work in conjunction with other members of the engineering department. The position will support Manufacturing Engineering with recording and documenting manufacturing processes to ensure correctness. The Process Engineer may be asked to train manufacturing and auxiliary teams on Lean/Six Sigma and 5S principles. The position will require engagement and communication with outside vendors and/or within Christensen Arms departments regarding equipment acquisition, training, process implementation, and plant layout.Responsibilities: Create or critique processes following Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing principlesEliminate waste and process variation following Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing principlesAnalyze manufacturing data to identify failure modes in the manufacturing process and work with teams to find a solution Work with Production and Engineering teams in establishing an efficient plant layout and implementing effective processesProvide insights and solutions to improve and streamline processes throughout the plantWork with production and quality teams to ensure processes yield the part quality and production demand requirements for Christensen ArmsProvide training of Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and 5S as requested through the plantWork within specified budget and time constraintsKnowledge, Skills & Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Mfg. Engineering (Process or Manufacturing preferred)Green Belt Six Sigma training/certification required (Black Belt Six Sigma preferred)Excellent understanding of Lean Manufacturing required (Lean Manufacturing certification preferred)Excellent reading comprehension skills to interpret Christensen Arms documentationAbility to apply and implement Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and 5S principlesMust use Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)Must be able to analyze data using statistical methods from Six Sigma trainingEffective communication skills, including the ability to clearly explain technical issuesAbility to work in a team environmentFocus on continuous improvement both personally and for Christensen ArmsSuccess Factors:Ability to perform assigned tasks with little oversightTechnical mastery of all required Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and 5S95% positive feedback from other department managers and team leadsClearly documented improvements and their impact on:Production throughput, showing before and after volumesQuality assurance, showing scrap rates and inspection methodsCompany financials, showing budget usage and annual cost savingsReduction of process wastes90% on time delivery of assigned tasksPositive attitude and influence in the workplace
