Job Description:

The Eagle Service Assistant will provide a diverse range of customer service and/or routine general services and support to a specified area. They may perform clerical services, equipment operation, materials handling, logistical support, and /or related duties in accordance with the day-to-day requirements of the specified area. The Eagle Services Assistant will be highly organized, processes strong computer skills, and demonstrate excellent communication skills with colleagues, supervisors, and all personnel. This is currently a part-time, non-benefited position and will be based at the Price campus working an average of 20 25 hours per week. Typical Functions: + Will work in the day-to-day operations of the motor pool service area, while providing support to post office center + May update and maintain operations manuals + Prepare reports and create spreadsheets for Eagle Services + Participate in meetings and trainings as required + Ensures proper use and maintance of equipment and supplies + Promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices + Maintains relationships and coordinates special project with University administrators, faculty, staff, students and general public + May manage cash, deposits, and Point of Sale system + May coordinate events and activities of the assigned area + Provides high-quality customer service + Preform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: + Will fulfill specific knowledge, skills, and abilities as described in recruitment notice + Skilled with basic office equipment, including printers, copiers, and telephone systems + Ability to create, compose, and edit written materials + Ability to read, sort, check, count, and verify numbers + Ability to stay calm with difficult or stressful customer service issues + Basic computer skills, including MS Word and MS Excel + Ability to read, understand, and follow safety procedures + Knowledge or will become knowledgeable of University policies and procedures + Ability to take initiative and work without close supervision Minimum Qualifications: + Aptitude is required + Exceptional listener and communicator who effectively conveys information verbally and in writing + Strong organizational skills + Attention to detail + Ability to effectively prioritize and juggle multiple projects + Ability to adapt to changing conditions or work assignments + Excellent interpersonal abilities + Team player who excels at building trusting relationships with customers and co-workers + Productive worker with solid work ethic who exerts effort in successfully completing tasks + Dependable, responsible contributor committed to excellence and success + Self-starter who takes imitative with minimal supervision + Willingness to learn new skills or techniques Fundamental Abilities: Within the scope and complexity of each position's responsibilities, each incumbents is expected to possess and demonstrate the following abilities: + Communicating: Communicates effectively both verbally and in writing. + Problem solving: Analyzes information and evaluates results to select the best solution and solve problems. + Monitoring: Measures performance of self; makes improvements and takes appropriate corrective action. + Critical thinking: Comes to well-reasoned conclusions, solutions, and approaches to problems. + Team Building: Works to create a team-based environment. + Active Listening: Gives full attention when others are speaking; listens to understand, asks questions as appropriate, and does not interrupt. + Service Orientation: Actively seeks opportunities to help others. + Conflict Resolution: Acts professionally when encountering customers who, at times, may be frustrated. + Technical Knowledge: Has a sound understanding of computer operating systems and programs.
