Utah Valley Pediatrics is currently looking for an After-Hour receptionist. The schedule will be 4:30 pm-9:00 pm and weekends are included. Listens carefully and thoughtfully, and works collaboratively to help anyone in need.Essential Job Functions for Medical Receptionist:Be present and punctual to all shifts. Shifts may vary to include: weekdays, evenings, weekends, and Holidays.Attend daily huddles, monthly staff meetings, and any other meetings as determined by your manager.Maintain a clean and orderly waiting area.Maintain the strictest confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations.Promptly answer incoming phone calls; to include assisting with lunch hour calls. A medical receptionist is responsible for opening and closing the office, according to office guidelines Greet patients & parents in a polite, prompt, helpful manner and provide any necessary instructions and/or directions. Inform nursing staff of patient arrivals. Obtain and enter new patient demographics; update patient information in the computer system to maintain accuracy for billing. Obtain insurance information; verify insurance by contacting insurance companies or state agencies. Collect all co-pays, deductibles, and balances. Properly apply for payments. Distribute and explain all UVP forms to the patient/parent. Review returned forms to assure completion. Schedule appointments for patients. Remind patients/parents about upcoming appointments, including phone calls, voice reminders, text, and/or email. At closing, compile all monies received, match the day's transactions, and complete the deposit procedure. Send and receive medical records; invoice as needed. Prepare, sort, and distribute mail. Be aware of patients in the waiting room and alert nursing staff of emergent conditions. Conduct self in accordance with UVP's mission statement and values. All other duties as assignedMedical Receptionist Requirements: Knowledge of principles and processes for providing exceptional customer service. This includes knowledge and implementation of the values in our UVP Pride statement. Basic knowledge of clerical duties, computer knowledge, and conceptual understanding of procedures and systems such as Microsoft suite, word processing, managing records, faxing, scanning and email. Proficiency and fluency in speaking, understanding, reading, and writing English. Knowledge of OSHA and HIPAA/ Red Flag rules as they apply to health care. Willingness and ability to treat everyone, other employees, and supervisors with respect and dignity. Maintain a positive and professional environment. Ability to handle stressful situations in a positive and productive manner. Willingness to adapt to change.This description is intended to provide only basic guidelines for meeting job requirements.
