TITLE: Snowmaking Systems Technician
LOCATION: Snowbird - Snowbird Center
STATUS: Seasonal, Full-time, Hourly
SCHEDULE: 5 to 6 days per week, 8 to 12-hour shifts
- Shifts: 7 am to 5 pm
- Must be able to work any day of the week including weekends and
holidays. SUMMARY
As a Snowmaking Systems Technician, you will work under the
direction of the Snowmaking Manager. You will be responsible for
the maintenance, repair and installation of electrical equipment
and systems for all snowmaking pump stations, guns, and vault
systems.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Work safely with electrical snowmaking equipment and
distribution systems.
- Perform Preventative and emergency maintenance on snowmaking
systems, high voltage distribution system, to optimize operations
and business services to guests.
- Perform scheduled maintenance, installation, and replacement of
parts on all snowmaking systems to assure optimal operation and
safety of equipment and cost of operations and repairs.
- Assist in the daily operation of all snowmaking systems.
- Maintain the inventory of electrical supplies and replacement
parts to meet budget and operating expectations.
- Lead and supervise members of the team during operations or
maintenance of equipment. WHAT YOU NEED TO GET THE JOB DONE
- Ability to read electrical schematics and blueprints.
- Demonstrated knowledge of safety and electrical
mathematics.
- Ability to plan and schedule work effectively.
- Ability to understand and follow established procedures.
- Positive attitude, good leadership ability and attention to
detail.
- A willingness to work in a team environment.
- Strong mechanical skills.
- Effective communication skills, oral and written.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills with the
ability to handle multiple tasks.
- Experience driving snowmobiles, 4x4 trucks and snowcats.
- Ability to work efficiently while not under direct
supervision.
- Timely and reliable attendance is essential.
- Valid driver's license. WORK SCHEDULE
- 8 to 12-hour shifts, 5-6 days per week.
- Shifts: 7 am to 5 pm.
- Must be able to work any day of the week including weekends and
holidays. WORKING CONDITIONS
- Must be prepared to stay overnight, if necessary, at occasional
times of road closures.
- May experience unusual stress from continual work with public,
winter conditions, snow night requirements and commuting to/from
Snowbird.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
- Must demonstrate ability to bend, kneel, handle, reach, grasp
and perform repetitive motions.
- Work is outdoors and requires constant exposure to cold and
other extreme weather conditions.
- Work is subject to frequent interruptions making continuity and
accuracy difficult, frequent exposure to noise. WHY WORK HERE
